VICTORIA CENTRE
Upon my visit to Victoria Centre, I uncovered the centre itself is well adapted to disability and the impaored customer. I also found that as part of their renovation plan they have even included an area where work is showcased by young carers in Nottingham.
They Have really tried to have a inclusive design approach and make everyone feel welcome. Within the shopping centre there are rest spots so consumers can sit down if too tired.
The entrance ways were clear and accessible to those in wheelchairs, via electonically operated doors. There were two disabled toilets on site which were both open for public use and the design was one which complied with regulations.
The ramp on the first floor was accessible and to regualtions. At a rise of 1200mm from the base level to the platform. users found it easy to use and being in the middle even the 'normal' consumer was making use of it.
